Top 5 Horror Video Games

Updated: Oct 16, 2020

It’s October and you know what that means - it’s Spooky Season! ’Tis the season to not just enjoy horror films, but horror games as well! So, in the spirit of Halloween, here are the Top 5 Horror Video Games.

5. Alien: Isolation

Alien: Isolation does a great job of really capturing the horror of the original Alien film with its tight corridors and atmosphere. You must survive the Xenomorph lurking around every corner, but it’s not the only threat out there. This is a must play for any horror fan.

4. Until Dawn

Until Dawn is like watching an interactive horror movie, which makes it very unique and creepy. You watch the story unfold and make choices for the character that could spell life or death. There are also multiple endings and twists that make it worth multiple plays.

3. Resident Evil 2 (Remake)

A game that was already a classic in horror, RE2 Remake expands on the original story and makes it even scarier. Zombie movies and games are nothing new, but this game hits like few others do; with great graphics and voice acting that actually make you fear for the characters.

2. Condemned: Criminal Origins

The Condemned series comes highly recommended, as it truly offers a terrifying experience. You play a police officer investigating an insane asylum and let’s just say things get real bad real fast. And then they just get worse from there. It is a very smart game that knows how to deliver the scares.

1. Dead Space

Dead Space takes the top spot. Cosmic horror is hard to get right, but this game nails it! Fear of the unknown is powerful and the way this game hides just enough will keep you on the edge of your seat. The religious connections also help ground it in a reality that we can believe. Play if you dare.
